Abstract:  The issue of the cosmogonies has always been a very complex matter of study and reflection. The cosmogony belonging to the Cathar system is not, as one might assume, unified, despite the fact that scholars employ the term “Cathar heresy” and not “Cathar heresies”. This is why this study aims at presenting one of these cosmogonies, namely that of the moderate Cathars, whose major book seems to have been Interrogatio Johannis. The contemporary historians have considered this book to be a Bogomilic apocryphon brought by the Cathar bishop Nazarius in the 12th century. Through this study we intend to draw attention to this exceptional source which allows us to put forward the hypotheses of a transfer of ideas from the Bogomils towards the moderate Cathars.

Keywords: Cosmogony, Cathar, Creation, Heresy, Sathan.
