Abstract: Literary Genres in the Book of Psalms. The study presents the living space of some literary genres based on current research results, i.e. the context in which the genre itself came into existence and became poetry and song. This is followed by the literary presentation of the individual genres, the details of the structural and thematic characteristics of the respective genres and the presentation of the stylistic features of the genres. The study contains a detailed analysis of the following genres: hymns, prayers, songs for giving thanks, psalms to the King, songs of Zion, teaching poems and liturgy. Upon presentation of the aforementioned genres, the study details the thematic sub-groups of each of them. The genre-definition, analysis and knowledge of each Psalm is required, as this makes the appropriate and necessary textual cognition of the respective psalms possible. Keywords: hymn, praise, prayer, musical instrument, church, worship service, cult, liturgy. |
