  Abstract:  Bocskai, Transylvania and the Peace Treaty of Vienna. The study presents a short commemoration of the importance of Stephen Bocskai, one of the greatest Hungarian personalities of the 16–17th century.It focuses on the Transylvanian perspect ives of his life and activity, namely on two questions: what has Bocskai got from Transylvania, and how has Transylvania profited from his life. At the end of the study, the author also deals with the actuality of the greatst atesman for the contemporary generation of Hungarians in Transylvania.
