  Abstract:  From a document found in the archives of Romanian Orthodox Parish in Bistrita, entitled „Ruştior Parish Monograph”, dated 8/20.VI.1899 signed by the parish priest Ioan Bârsan, we can make an anthropological image on this Romanian community in Şieu Valley, where the cultural, material elements are parts of complex equations with sensitive mental and imaginary realities. We can thus convincingly redefine the complicated relations, not always obvious at first sight, between the various levels of a community, but equally our representation of the refuge phenomenon in the eighteenth century, attributed to Transylvanian Romanians established in the localities from the outskirts of the Empire.
