Abstract:   In Confession and between Confessions. The present conversions from a religion to another, in the Transylvanian Romanian village environment since the beginning, were supported or disagreed by the political factors, depending on the destination they followed. The Habsburg domination sustained with all its powers the conversions to the catholic religion, even if, after years, obliged by the reality factors; it should accept the other conversions to other cults. Until 1918, the Romanians of Transylvania changed their confession from the Orthodox religion to the Greek-Catholic one. But there were also allowed the conversions in the other way since 1846. In this movement of conversion the priests and the community leaders were involved, because of their discontentment regarding their religious status, trying to obtain benefits of different nature they used to declare.
