  Abstract:  The Panegyric. These concerns present the essential elements, specific characteristics and practical guidelines on panegyric - a peculiar kind of speech belonging to the category of parenetic or occasional speeches. In the beginning, this paper provides some general information about parenetic oratory; after that, the theoretical framework of this topic is in short displayed, that is: etymology, specific features, manner of exposure, tone, style etc. The practical part, the one on the subject of Origen, will be both a support guide in documenting, compiling and supporting a panegyric, and a tribute to the illustrious Alexandrian exegete as well.
