Abstract:  The Importance of Saint Symeon the New Theologian’s Works. The writings and theological thinking of Saint Simeon the New Theologian follow the classical line of eastern patristics, of living theology that the Church lived from the first centuries. They bring more vitality to the spiritual feeling and experience, to the ecclesial sacrament of the mystery of divine life, the life which is accessible to people and to which people are called by Christ in the Holy Spirit. This is the result of our own spiritual experience, which has its own manifestation and intensity in the spiritual frame of the century, but, in comparison with those before and after it, the life in the divine light of Saint Simeon made Him be called the Theologian and later to be known in the history of Church as the New Theologian, like the Saint Apostle and Evangelist John and Saint Gregory of Nazianzus.

Keywords: Church, divine light, ecclesial sacrament, Saint Simeon the New Theologian, spiritual experience, theology.
