Abstract:  The Apostolic Fathers. The first Fathers of the Church are, according to the age criterion, the ones who personally met the Holy Apostles or their apprentices. These are the Apostolic Fathers those who laid the foundations of the rich and glorious period of the Holy Fathers. They are part of the first Christian generations from the end of first century and the second half of the second century. Their writings accurately render the things they learned from the Holy Apostles, as being their contemporaries or at last with the final part of their lives. Through their work, the Apostolic Fathers founded the Christian theology which will be continued and studied thoroughly by the Apologists, but especially by the Holy Fathers from the following centuries.
