Abstract:  Towards a Neutral Definition of Secularisation – II- Secularisation as nihilism. The way Nietzsche criticizes Christianity and metaphysics regards the impersonality which the human being is pushed to, by the violence that metaphysics presses upon him through the claim of offering a principle able to explain the world. This principle is inevitably violent, similarly to Procust’s bed. Nihilism - the absence of absolute values -means the re-discovery of the plenary life whose only significance is the one that man can confer to it. Thus, the secularisation in the late modernity can be a chance to Christianity, according as the absence of the metaphysical trancendence opens ourselves to the close transcendence of the Other.
