  Abstract:  The complex work of Bergson may be conceived from the perspective of duration (durée). This perspective is justified by the fact that the author himself considers duration the initial, genuine intuition that he strived to expres all his life. The cronological presentation of Bergson''s main writings proves the proces through wich the intuition of duration expands gradually the content and enriches its significance.
