  Abstract:  Cornel Tatai-Baltă, Ioan Fărcaş, The Iconostasis of the Greek-Catholic Cathedral of the „Holy Trinity” from Blaj (The 18th Century), Alba Iulia, Editura Altip, 2011, 236 p. with illustrations. The book analyses, from the artistic, symbolic and theological perspective, a unique monument on the Romanian territory, namely the iconostasis of the Greek - Catholic Cathedral of the „Holy Trinity” from Blaj. An outcome of the research work carried on during a decade, the book comprises several texts attentively worked out, accompanied by a series of illustrations which particularly reproduce the icons from the various registers of the iconostasis and it also refers to special aspects of the cathedral''s architecture. The main chapters of the volume approach the iconography of the imperial doors, of the deacon doors, of the imperial icons, of the Great Holidays icons, of the registers of the apostles and of the prophets as well as of the Crucifix with the Virgin and John the Apostle, on either side, resorting to several descriptions, analogies, differences and interferences, biblical quotations, religious symbols which finally lead to outlining an attractive and convincing discourse.
