  Abstract:

Fides et Ratio - The Relationship between Faith and Reason. An Analytical Approach. One of the main feature about analytic theology is that it is a form of rationalism to provide conceptual clarifications and grounds for the religious belifs. This paper is an analytic theology reading, it is a research at the intersection of analytic philosophy and Christian theology. It promotes a possible interdisciplinary cooperation among analytic philosophers and theologians. The aim is to examine a traditional question of theology, the relation (relationship) faith/reason – Pope John Paul II: Faith and Reason – from the perspectives of analytic philosophy and contemporary Christian theology. In this contribution a first advance at the intersection of both concepts will be explored. Moreover, the reading will critically suggest the possible limits of analytic approaches for theological research.

Keywords: faith, reason, relationship, condition of possibility, necessary condition, sufficient condition, analytic philosophy, analytic theology, conceptual clarification, dialog.
