Man – the Image of God – His Call for Love: the Relational Person. The crisis that affects nowadays the institution of the family can not be explained only socially and economically, but also through the separation of certain fundamental concepts from their original meanings. One of these concepts, whose genesis can be found in the Trinitarian and Christological theology is the concept of person. The aim of this paper is to argue for the necessity to recoup the metaphysical and theological significances of the concept of person and, implicitly of the concept of family, which is a sine qua non condition for the foundation of an anthropology capable of expressing and support the value and the dignity of the human being and family.
