  Article:   CARDINALS AND EVOLUTIONISM.

Authors:  ROBERT LAZU.

Abstract:  Cardinals and Evolutionism. One of the most significant debates of the last years is that one between the so-called “Neo-Darwinists” and many Christian theologians. When it is about the Catholic Church, two of the most notable personalities involved in this debate are those of Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J., from the Jesuit Fordham University, and the renowned Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, the Cardinal Archbishop of Vienna. Robert Lazu’s article “Cardinals and Evolutionism” presents the critical analysis consecrated to the Neo-Darwinist doctrine by these notable Catholic thinkers and presents their articles published in influential journals and magazines like First Things and New York Times. Simultaneously, the Cardinal Schönborn’ book Chance or purpose? is extensively presented and analyzed.
