  Abstract:  Cette étude a l’intention de présenter les éléments fondamentaux de la conception ecclésiologique du métropolite Ioan Vancea, comme ils ont été affirmés au Concile Vatican I. Accompagné par Iosif Papp Szilagy, il a été le porteur de parole auprès du Concile de la théologie et des souhaits des roumains unis avec Rome. L’ecclésiologie du métropolite Ioan Vancea est profondément enraciné dans la théologie orientale du premier millénaire et dans le Concile florentin, auquel elle se rapporte constamment.
