  Abstract:   Das Phänomen der Sekten bedeutet auch in der Globalisierungszeit eine große Herausforderung sowohl für die Einzelnen als auch für die Großkirchen. Diese Tatsache hat vielerlei Gründen. In meinem Aufsatz stelle ich die Sekten und ihre Grundmotive durch eine allgemeine phänomenologische Annäherung vor und ich markiere dabei die Hauptprobleme. Mein Ziel ist es, „unausgesprochen“ bewusst zu machen, dass das beschriebene Phänomen auch ein Spiegelbildfunktion hat: es zeigt nämlich die Kehrseite und die Gefahren unserer eigenen Religiosität.
