Abstract:  The integration of Central and Eastern Europe countries in the world economy: peripherization or marginalization? In this paper we try to identify the globalization – underdevelopment connection. This connection can be described by two hypotheses: (1) that the underdevelopment it’s the result of the globalization or (2) that the underdevelopment it’s a process of refusing the globalization process. These two hypotheses will be evaluated by a series of available data for Central and Eastern Europe but also from the chain of production standpoint. We will evaluate the convergence of economic organization startinf from the two hypotheses.
