Abstract:  The issue of interests groups and their activity implies some theoretical incursions into fundamental concepts of democracy, national and particular interests. French political and constitutional theory based on national sovereignty and public interest treats interests groups as a deviation from the basic principles of democracy, as a threaten towards the State and unity of nation. In opposition, the American model of democracy is the result of representing the different particular interests; therefore interests groups provides the dynamism of civil society and its legitimate capacity of influencing Governmental decisions.
