LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN USA / CONSIDERAŢII PRIVIND GUVERNĂMÂNTUL LOCAL ÎN S.U.A. . Authors: EMIL BOC. |
||||||
Abstract: Local Government in USA. American local governments were not planned according to some grand design, you can find no provision in the U.S. constitution concerning the local government. Local governments are a creature of the states and they grew in response to a combination of citizen demand, interest group pressure and state government acquiescence. There are five types of local governments: counties, municipalities, towns and townships - (general-purpose local government) - and school districts and special districts - (single- purpose local government). Which form of government is best? It is up to community residents to decide that. | |||||||
