Abstract:  The analysis of organic compounds and some pesticides in different Romanian wines by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was performed in scan and selected ion monitoring (SIM) modes. Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and solid phase micro extraction (SPME) methods were used. The incorporated Rtx-5MS capillary column, 30mx 0.32mm, 0.25µm film thickness, was used in a temperature program from: 50oC for 2 min, then increased to 310oC with a rate of 10oC /min. The required level for pesticides in drinking water and food, specified in EEC Directive explains the need for straightforward, selective and sensitive methods for trace level determination of these compounds in drinking water or beverages and the recent development of techniques in this area.

Keywords: Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, Liquid-liquid and solid phase micro extraction method, wines, pesticides.
