Abstract:  The press review: from prototype to emergent forms. Our paper addresses the new, emergent forms of the “press review” genre. For this purpose, we propose a definition for the prototype and a classification of the genre, in an attempt to demonstrate how specific examples of press review respect or not the prototypical genre. The demonstration is carried out with the help of a sequential analysis and it shows, in specific case studies, the structure of “congruent” press review as compared to emergent forms, which present deviances from the model, to the point of being confused with satire of entertainment shows.

Keywords : press review, prototypical forms, emergent forms.
