  Abstract:  The flesh of the language, the speech of the body. On Hanna Agaʼs poetic insight. The author of the article presents the main features of Agaʼs poetic universe, one of the most exciting Norwegian poets, whose voice was heard especially in the 1980ʼs and 1990ʼs. She focuses specifically on melancholy which constitutes the basic tone of Agaʼs poetry and which may be regarded as one of the fundamental figures in our thought concerning humanity and culture. The reading of Agaʼs poetry is a .o. based on Julia Kristevaʼs and Sigmund Freudʼs theories on the phenomenon of melancholy.
