Abstract:  The Origins of the Provençal Adverb. A Synthetic Study. In the present study we undertake to analyse closely a part of speech that has been less studied in the works or articles of Provençal or Romance linguistics: the adverb. We interpret it from different perspectives, such as the etymological, morphological, semantic or comparative ones. All language facts we analysed demonstrate that, despite a formal heterogeneity, we speak about unity in diversity, as in the case of the other Romance languages.
