Abstract: Strategic actions taken by a firm generate responses from the main competitors. The order of each competitive action and response influences the competitve dynamics. Of greatest importance are first movers, second movers and last movers. There are some factors that influence an industry’s competitive dynamics: firm size, speed of competitive actions and responses, innovation and quality. Managers should understand the relationships between each of these factors and firm’s performance when they formulate the corporate strategy. | |||||||
