Abstract:  Self-Directed Learning in the Context of Teaching/Learning Business English. Teaching/Learning English for Business is becoming an increasingly important aspect of ELT, displaying both dynamism and mobility. Therefore, it has been the preoccupation of teachers and students to develop and promote self-learning strategies. This involves fostering discovery, awareness-raising and taking charge of efficient learning styles by the student. It is extremely important for the students to assume responsibility for their learning process, both during language courses and outside the classroom setting. The aim is for the students to become as independent in the process of learning as possible, in terms of both methodology and attitudes towards learning.
