  Abstract:  România la început de mileniu III se află din nou în "jocul opţiunilor", respectiv opţiunea "pentru un sistem contabil". Conceptual, apreciem că un SISTEM CONTABIL este un ansamblu coerent de concepte, principii, reguli, şi/sau convenţii contabile general admise, a căror aplicabilitate convergentă, impusă fie doctrinar, fie reglementar, asigură furnizarea unor informatii inteligibile, relevante, credibile şi comparabile privind imaginea fidelă, clară şi completă a poziţiei financiare, performanţelor şi modificărilor în poziţia financiară a unei întreprinderi.
