  Abstract:   This introductory course contains the basic results and methods in nonlinear analysis, with applications to boundary value problems for ordinary and partial differential equations. To avoid technicalities and make the text accessible to beginners, some of the assertions and examples are not treated in the most general known form, but rather in typical situations containing the essential features of the problem. In fact, the book is written at two levels - the basic material contained in the seven chapters of the book and the appendices, containing more advanced topics.
