	Abstract: This paper develops a short survey of the fuzzy sets theory and how it can contribute to better, more robust data analysis methods. We briefly cover the major fuzzy sets definitions, the rough sets alternative, fuzzy clustering, fuzzy classification, fuzzy regression, data visualisation and pro- jection. We conclude that the fuzzy sets represent a very important advance for intelligent data analysis.
