Abstract:  Jewish Press and Memoirs - Forms of Civil Resistance. The present paper aims at presenting several forms of Jewish resistance in a time when traditional means of struggle - memoranda, petition, interventions in the Parliament, alliances with democratic political parties, or even the Marxist option - did not function anymore. Faced with a drastic limitation of options, Jewish leaders and intellectuals resorted to the only available strategies under the respective circumstances. Consequently, in the context of the epoch, a diary was a last resort, a form of individual protest, recording the feelings of frustration and revolt, thus turning into an act of personal, passive resistance.
