Among the inscribed pieces found during the archaeological excavations of a Roman complex at Gârla Mare (Mehedinţi County), that lied probably in the territory of Drobeta in Upper Dacia, more Latin graffiti are significant for the diffusion of literacy and the variety of paleography. While most of them are republished with a new reading for the longer one, another example is new.
