  Abstract:  Up to now twenty seven protected natural areas have been recorded in Egypt, such as the Siwa, Wadi el Alaq, El-Hassana Dom, the Wadi Sanur Cave, White Desert and others (Fig. 1). Among these, the Gilf Kebir National Geopark and the Dababiya Geosite show outstanding features and are worth being mentioned.
