Abstract:  Radionuclides are often used in medicine diagnosis, clinical chemistry, molecular biology, and other life science fields. The isotopic neutron sources of 241Am - 9Be and 239Pu - 9Be and the cyclotron are normally used for the production of some radioisotopes of medical interest such as: 116mIn, 56Mn, 198Au, 61,64Cu. The 64Cu and 61Cu radioisotopes are often used in nuclear medicine for PET imaging and radio-immunotherapy of tumors by the way of deuteron particle bombardment of enriched 64Zn target. The radioisotope 64Cu is both a positron and a beta emitter and is already used for labeling of PET imaging radiopharmaceuticals.
