Abstract:  Premises of the Physical, Human and Regional Approach in Tiberiu Morariu’s Pioneer’s Work. Our paper is a remembrance of Professor Tiberiu Morariu. This has not been triggered by the man, by the geographer that Tiberiu Morariu was. It has appeared out of our desire to recall to the geographers’ attention one of the professor’s first scientific works: „Valea Sălăuţa şi împrejurimea”, his research subject for his diploma. First of all, we must mention that this work was a valuable geographical study for the respective period. Its scientific content may easily include this work into any of the branches of Geography (Physical Geography, Human Geography, or Regional Geography). Nevertheless, the connections between the regional components, the solutions that the author proposes for regional development (e.g. when focusing upon Maramureş, too), the easy "handling" of a series of terms belonging to Regional Geography etc. recommend including this work among the studies within Regional Geography. Moreover, Tiberiu Morariu’s work is a model for the regional studies at the contemporary period.
