Abstract:  The Residential Zones of Cluj-Napoca and the Recent Evolution of the Real-Estate Market. The town of Cluj-Napoca has known in the last decade an economic boom period that might be best illustrated by the continuously increasing prizes of the dwellings and by the “construction fever” in the last years. The real-estate boom transformed not only the already existing residential zones, but also led to a territorial expansion that was unknown since decades. The different categories of dwellings are reflecting a strengthening social differentiation within the town’s population, but also the beginning of a filtration process, which marks an increased social mobility in the recent period.
