Abstract:  Characteristics of the Fog in the Bihor and Vladeasa Mts. In order to carry out this paper we used the data resulted from the meteorological observations during 1961-2000 from nine weather stations situated at different altitudes within the Bihor and Vladeasa Mts. or at their periphery: Gurahonţ (177 m), Ştei (265 m), Borod (333 m), Huedin (560 m), Câmpeni (591 m), Stâna de Vale (1102 m), Băişoara (1360 m), Vlădeasa Cabană (1404 m) and Vlădeasa Vârf (1836 m). We determined the average and maximum number of foggy days, the frequency of the fog during daytime and the monthly average and maximum persistence of fog. It came out that fog is more frequent and persistent on the highest peaks, especially in winter and more rarely and shorter in low depressions.
