Abstract:  The 14th International Colloquium on Climatology. The scientific manifestation took place in Seville, between September 12 and September 15, 2001. The organizers were The International Association of Climatology and the University of Seville. The main thematic of the colloquium was "Climate and the Environment. Climatic information helping managing the environment". The principal ideas resulted from this meeting refer to two major aspects: the necessity of transforming climatic data into information and, in this context, the use of new methods in obtaining, processing and cartographically representing data, allowing an accurater monitoring of the state and evolution of the environment (teledetection, GIS). Our presence in Seville also allowed us to see some outstanding scientific and touristic objectives from Andalusia (the Doñana National Park) and from Seville (the Gothic Cathedral, the Giralda Tower, the Pilate’s House etc.).
