Abstract:  Synoptic Situations Which Determined Excessively Rainy Months in the North-West Region of Romania. In this paper we chose as studied area the North-West Region of Romania. Analysed precipitation monthly data are from 8 weather stations for June and January for a period of 30 years: 1966-1995. The most imporatant clonclusion we reached is that, excessivly rainy months are generated, in the most part of cases, by atlantic and mediteranian cyclons in January and by mediteranian cyclons in June. The second conclusion is that, usualy, wintertime, big amounts of precipitation are determined by the same syoptic situation, while summertime, time distribution is specific for each weather station.
