Abstract:  Geomorphological Interpretations Concerning the Magmato – Volcanic Structures in the Transylvanian Depression. The works published on the Transylvanian Depression totalize an impressive number. Yet, the characteristics of the sedimentary cover are prevantly evaluated not only in the analytical studus, but also in the geological and geomorphological syntheses. The problems concerning the natural substratum, intensely tectonized, and those concerning the magmato-volcanic bodies have not found certain answers yet. There are only mere references to the isolated volcanic appearances, many of them having notes of characteristic features (petrographic, tectonic, structural, morphological), but they lack the integrative interpretations. These sporadical or collateral approaches lead to some abions facts such as: the spatial mobility of the Transylvanian Basin; the intense fragmentation of the foundation; the presence of some isolated magmatic bodies; the making evident, by diferential erosion, of a geomorphological landscape dominated by structural morphologies; geomorphological contrasts generated by three participations: special foundation; heterogenous cover; volcanites scattered on horinzontal and vertical planes. The detailed studies accomplished in certain areas with volcanites and the appeal to some ideas from the Plate tectonics theory had to some new geomorphological interpretations regarding the magmato- volcanic in the Transylvanian Depression. The important keywords: isolated magmato-volcanic structures; selective erosion in several stages; contrasting morphology; the microplates dynamics.
