Abstract:  Doctor’s Degree at the Faculty of Geography, ”Babeş-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca, in the Period 1990-2005. The activity of scientific and didactic improvement through doctor’s degree in the field of Geography was less important in the interwar period (1919-1945), în accordance with the specific situation. After this date, between the interval 1945-1948, some papers of Doctor’s Degree were delivered at both universities from Cluj (”V. Babeş” and ”Bolyai”). However, this form was estimated anew in 1948. As a result, just a single person from those remained active in the higher education had a recognized title of Doctor in the field of Geography at the University of Cluj, respectively Prof. Tiberiu Morariu PhD. Beginning with 1953, the activity of improvement through Doctor’s Degree in Romania was resumed, being entrusted, at a national level, in the field of Geography, till 1960, only to Prof. Tiberiu Morariu PhD. After this date, the activity was entrusted to other personalities from the universities of Bucharest and Iaşi and from the Romanian Academy’s Institute of Geography. As concerns the University at the foot of Feleacului, it must be underlined that in the whole period 1953-1990 the single coordinator of Doctor’s Degree in Geographical Sciences remained Prof. Tiberiu Morariu PhD (corresponding member of Romanian Academy since 1955), from reasons well known by the people who lived in that period. Beginning on the autumn of 1990, in the new social-political conditions from Romania, the activity of Doctor’s Degree took new forms. This situation, with some reasons, is presented synthetically in this article and in the enclosed tables.
