Abstract:  Bioclimates and Diversification of Watering and Touristic Functionality. The characteristics of climate, with regional specifical traits, were a constant preoccupation from a very early field research (the end of 19th century). In that period Al. Saabner Tuduri studied the sea bioclimate. As a result of the registered results, the first sanatoriums of recovery for breathing disorders were built up, on the seashore area. The subsequent knowledge of bioclimates from the hilly and mountainous zones led to the extension of balneary arrangements with a similar profile in these spaces. The favourable superposing upon the hilly zone (Carpathians, Subcarpathians, Transilvania Depression, Western Hills, seaside of the Black Sea) of the bioclimate without restrictions, the presence of some hidromineral deposits that were turned into account fore more than a century and a half contributed, in time, to the development of a real network of watering and climating resorts that were representative in the Romanian watering and touristic landscape.
