  Abstract:   The European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) was shaped on the institutional and procedural experience of the European Union’s (EU) widening and it comes as an alternative, a partnership based on common values, for the relations that EU establishes with its neighboring countries. The official bilateral documents set the framework of EU-neighboring countries cooperation and are approach leverages to European Union that could set a similar evolution for two countries neighboring the UE. Further on, the paper will present a comparative economic analysis between two Eastern countries neighboring the EU, Ukraine and Republic of Moldova, to identify how much they approach to the economic standards required by the EU, and how much differ their economic evolution.
