Abstract:  More and more often, human resources researchers and practitioners ask themselves how can be clearly demonstrated the relationship between human resources practices and firm performance. This special attention for this problem is due to the increasing competitiveness among firms, due to the interest of obtaining competitive advantage through people. So we emphasize the role of human capital, knowledge management, underline the key concept of gaining competitive advantage through people. Also, we present how important is to know how to link the HR Practices - to outcomes through Firm Performance Chain Finally, we propose to develop the practices in Romanians organisations by using new frame, like VRIO (Value, Rareness, Imitability, Organization) Framework to examine the role that HR function plays in developing a sustained competitive advantage and how to use new approaches for Human resources measurement. HR practitioners have become preoccupied with demonstrating the value of the HR function, particularly through showing its impact on firm performance. The international research and Australian case study can be, a useful proof in order to apply in Romania, such new frame, models and causal relationship analysis in next future.
