ANALYSIS OF THE MEDIA DISCOURSE. Authors: . |

Abstract: What one presents in the media as „reality” is, in fact, the product of a complex process of event selection and reframing. Many factors are responsible for this construction of the media reality. Among them, we only mention the subjective choices of the journalists and editors (information selection and framing, hierarchy based on news-values, wording) and the medium based constraints (format, number of characters for newspapers or duration for radio and TV, cut technique, graphic design, dead-line). The result is not a mirror of reality, but just a „picture in our head” or a representation of reality. | |||||||
