Abstract: The Implications of Water in the Cell Metabolism and Cell Functions. Water is the basic component of all living organisms and is indispensable to life. Water is the environment for the progress of physical-chemical cell processes and biological cell processes. The metabolism processes cannot take place without water. The splitting of the polysaccharide molecules, fat molecules, protein substances all happen only after the intervention of water. The forming of the plastic components included in the structure of each cell, takes place only in the presence and under the control of water. During intense sports efforts, together with the intensification of the oxidation processes and with the accumulation of increased amounts of toxic products, the water loss is materialized through loss of body weight after effort, and these losses depend on several internal and external factors. Water is a nutrition, structural and biocatalyst factor of great importance for vital phenomena. Key words: water, cell, metabolism, effort |
