Abstract:  Specific Aspects of Freediving. Freediving is regarded as an extreme sport due to the intense physical and psychological demands, and the high level of risk it involves. The adversity of the environment and absence of limitations (from the results point of view) have also placed this sport in the higher mentioned section. Physiological modifications take place as a consequence of the diferences between hyperbaric and normal environment, thus four specific training methods and five nonspecific training methods emmerge. Mental training has an important role in freediving, especially the asian techniques borrowed from The Hatha Yoga system.
