  Abstract:  Improving Methods and Means in 400 meters Sprint Training. Higher performance need complex studies and research to establish scientific criteria, methods and parameters to conduct the coaching process. The paper assumption is the need to introduce forms of training, based on physiological and biochemical criteria in training programs. The elaboration of training programs is in accordance with the real possibilities of the sportsman, with corresponding adaptation to effort and with the suggested objectives. The starting idea is to obtain higher level intensity in longer period of time, to increase the rate of progress in the conquests period
