Article:   ON ROBERT COHEN’S ACTING POWER.

Authors:  PAULA MĂHĂLEAN.

  Abstract:

The fragments and the comments below are the direct effect of the sad fact that in Romania there is a symptomatic lack of printed acting manuals and courses. The author undertakes the difficult task of both translating and presenting a series of fragments from Acting Power, an acting course written by Robert Cohen, a famous American director and acting professor at the University of California Irvine. The goal of this selection – interpretation – supported by some useful exercises – focused on the relationship between the actor’s/performativity and it’s power of interaction with the audiences.

Keywords: acting manual, Robert Cohen, method
