The isolation of pure trans - trans isomer of 1,4-(2,5,5-trimethyl-5,5-dihydroxymethyl-1,3-dioxan-2-yl)benzene via O-protection, column chromatography then deprotection followed by determination of its structure by solid state X-ray diffractometry are reported.
