Abstract:   The synthesis of both enantiomers of 1-(10-ethyl-10H-phenothiazin-2-yl)-1-ethanol by enzymatic kinetic resolution of the racemic alcohol or his corresponding acetate was performed using lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens (PFL) as biocatalyst. PFL was next immobilized by sol-gel encapsulation. The stability, activity and reusability of the obtained enzyme preparations were also determined.

Keywords: enzymatic kinetic resolution, lipase from Pseudomonas
