Abstract:   The first record of a centipede species (Clinopodes flavidus) from the Romanian Carpathians was mentioned in the Banat Mountains, in the 19th century. However, records number rose to the highest only after the middle of the 20th century, when a few Romanian zoologists started to study this group of invertebrates in this area.
